A few days ago this paper announced the dissolution of partnership of the livery firm of Liddon & Standley. Shortly after the partnership was dissolved, Richard S. Hall bought a third interest in the real estate of the firm, consisting of the fine corner on which the stables are located. Saturday Mr. Hall bought a third interest in the stock and vehicles also, and Mallory Liddon, C. A. Liddon's son, bought another third, C. A. Liddon retaining a third interest in the entire property. The firm is now Liddon, Hall & Liddon.
Richard Hall has great faith in the future of Ocala and it is very likely will put this faith into practice by the buying of other realty here. He is a splendid business man, a natural horse and stock man, though not engaged in the business heretofore, except as it came in the line of his business, that of a naval stores operator, where he has used more horses and mules than any liveryman in this section. Mr. Hall is very popular and will prove a valuable member of the firm.
Mr. C. A. Liddon is too well known to need any extended mention. He has been doing business "at the old stand" for many years, is a practical and successful man in the business, is pleasant, obliging and is well liked.
Mallory Liddon has grown up with the business, as it were, having been connected with it and doing clerical work ever since he was old enough to do so. Naturally he has acquired a splendid knowledge of the business and of business methods in general. He is a "jolly good fellow," but what is more important, is a thorough-going young business man and attends closely to business.
Mr. C. A. Liddon will leave tonight or tomorrow for Tennessee and will buy a car of the very best Tennessee driving and saddle stock for the exclusive use of the livery business. He will also buy a number of first-class and up to date carriages and buggies and will fit the stables up throughout with everything needed.
In a very short time some substantial improvements will be made on the buildings and a new coat of paint will be added.
The new firm proposes to give their customers the best there is to be had in the livery business and will cater to the trade of all classes, will try to deserve a liberal patronage, and we will venture to say, win be favored with it.
