Says Ouster Blow at U. S. Unity

SAN FRANCISCO. Sept. 30- (AP)--The recommendation of a special justice department inspector that Harry Bridges be deported to Australia was denounced today in a statement of the California State Committee of the Communist Party as "a blow at the national unity of the American people."

The recommendation was based on the contention that the CIO longshore leader had been affiliated with the Communist party

"Bridges was fighting Hitler Fascism when his enemies were calling him a 'Red' for doing so," the statement read.

"Events have shown that if the country had followed the anti-Fascist policies advocated by Bridges for years past, America would not be in the precarious position with its peace and security threatened by Hitler Fascism as it is today."
