Gen. Stark in answer to the address from the Republicans who assembled to commemorate the glorious victory of Bennington, says, " I have ever lamented that even one of my companions in arms should have forgotten the principles of the revolution ; but infinite art and labour have been applied to envelop their eyes and understandings in a mist : I however fondly hope that the fog is dissolving, and that they will soon see the deadly serpent lurking beneath the goodly tree, and join their brethren in bruising the head of the unprincipled and dangerous monster."
