ROBBERY AND INCENDIARISM.—Mr. Porter Chase, who keeps a refreshment room in the basement of Goodrich's brick building, near the depot, on unlocking the door thereof about half past 5, on Monday morning, found the room full of smoke and fire, which had made considerable progress in different parts. By well directed exertions, he soon subdued the flames, and without causing a general alarm. On examination the fire appeared to have been set in three places; and the money drawer removed to a distant part of the room and robbed of all the silver change it contained, some 2 or $3. The perpetrator of the outrage probably entered the cellar by means of false keys.

The refectory in Goodrich's building, which was robbed and then set fire to, on Monday morning last, was occupied by Horace Fletcher and not by Porter Chase, as heretofore stated. Mr. Chase first discovered the fire, however, and extinguished it. The money taken amounted to some four or five dollars.
