Bastia, Aug. 3. The Deputies of the Corsicans and the Attornies of the respective Pieves repaired the 25th to San Florenzo, pursuant to the Convocatory Letters they had received from M. Chauvelin. The next Day they all met at the Convent of Oletto near that Town, when the said Minister imparted to them the Intentions of the King his Master, and the Arrangements his Most Christian Majesty had judged properly for establishing and maintaining the Tranquillity of the Island.

The first Instant there was a new Meeting at the same Place, when the Deputies and Attornies of the Corsicans acknowledged the Sovereignty of the Republick, and swore upon the Holy Gospels to submit to her upon the Terms which his Most Christian Majesty had been pleased to prescribe to them. And thus was this Affair terminated, which has made so much Noise. The Conditions prescribed by the King are not yet known, but it is expected they will be published in a few Days.
