Pursuant to conscience's dictation, I beg leave to submit the following card of honor and congratulations to the scholars and patrons of Fisher's school, Monroe District, Snyder Co.
The scholars have my sincere thanks and congratulations for excellence in deportment, good recitations and regularity of attendance. I wish them God-speed in all their undertakings.
The patrons also have my regards for so unwaveringly co-operating with me in making the term one of success and advancement. Many thanks.
The directors of the district and worthy County Superintendent have my sincere thanks for aid and assistance during the term of 1898-9.
The public school is one of the greatest bulwarks of our nation's safety and prosperity. Education sustains the same relation to our Republic as does the heart to the body. It is the source of life and the main spring of its existence. Man or woman, destitute of education and culture, is incompetent and incapable of successfully meeting life's duties and obligations. Self-reliance, industry and integrity are the masters of the world. I am yours in school work,
JACOB P. SCHAEFFER.
