Star Entertainers On Radio, TV for Kenny Fund Drive

Minneapolis, Minn. A galaxy of radio, screen, stage and television stars is being heard and seen in recorded and filmed appearances on stations everywhere in the United States in support of the annual fund appeal of the Sister Elizabeth Kenny foundation now in progress, according to Marvin L. Kline, national executive director.

"Musical Showcase," a series of 15-minute transcribed radio shows, features Jill Corey, Bob Crosby assisted by the "Bob Cats" and the "Modernaires," Mindy Carson, Steve Lawrence, Eydie Gorme, Frankie Laine, Pat Boone, the Andrews Sisters, Sammy Kaye and his Orchestra, Georgia Gibbs and Felicia Sanders.

"Disc jockey cut-ins" for radio have been made by Tennessee Ernie Ford, Rosemary Clooney, Gale Storm, Johnny Mathis, Gisele MacKenzie, Ray Anthony and his Orchestra, Tab Hunter, Nat "King" Cole, Tommy Sands, Guy Lombardo and his Orchestra and Debbie Reynolds.

Stars heard on Celebrity Spots, 30-second and one-minute announcements, include Arlene Dahl, Richard Carlson, Hal March, Willard Ford (The Great Gildersleeve) Waterman, James Arness, Don McNeill and Alfred Hitchcock.

"Expansion of the Kenny program to include treatment and rehabilitation for persons of all ages with neuromuscular disabilities as well as those with polio is stressed by the stars in their fund appeals," Kline said.
