Full Text

The Worcester Times says of the Washburn & Moen Company of that city:

"The wire mill corporation is a close fisted affair. It makes hundreds of thousands of dollars annually, yet the laborers in its employ have been working for less money than the laborers of most other concerns in the city. Recently the wire men have been joining the K. of L. in great numbers, and the proprietors, fearful of the storm or strike, have given notice that the pay of the laborers will be increased one cent an hour the 1st of March. Who will ever again say that the corporation is soulless: Just think of it an increase of one cent an hour!"
