Full Text
Davenport Democrat: Bryan can't keep his hands off the presidential proposition. He can't take a hint, even when a whole brick block falls on his head. Having heard twice, with all the emphasis that should be necessary, that the people of the United States do not want him or his theories in the administration, he continues to come up and plan things for the democratic party, to its undoing. His latest is to appear in conjunction with Hon. Tom L. Johnson, of Cleveland, a man so extreme and impracticable in his ideas that if he were to be presented as the democratic candidate for the presidency, as it is reported Mr. Bryan designs to have done, he would be more ruinously beaten than ever Bryan was, and that gentleman holds the record to date. The statesman from the Platte will not go back and sit down. It becomes necessary for the people to do it for him about so often.
