Washington's Birthday was fittingly commemorated at Putnam High School in appropriate assembly exercises yesterday noon. The guest speaker was the Rev. Paul Q. Brooks, pastor of the Putnam Methodist Church, who delighted his audience with a scholarly, carefully prepared and beautifully rendered address on the life of our first President, its influence upon his contemporaries and its pertinent message in our present national crisis.

Appropriate music was furnished under the direction of Don C. Tiffany of the high school faculty.
