Full Text

We have received New Orleans papers and letters to the 1st instant. They are quite silent as to the late rumors respecting disturbances in that quarter. Our letter of the 30th says: "We have nothing new here, either political or commercial. Every thing remains tranquil notwithstanding the little success our deputies met with at Washington. Their report has appeared in our papers, and does but very little credit to congress or the president."

"We have had no arrivals direct from England since January. Although there is a certainty, of nine vessels having sailed for this port, no further accounts have been received of them, excepting two, which we have learned have been taken by the French."
