To the PRINTER.

WHEREAS sundry Shopkeepers in the Town of Portsmouth. and Province of New Hampshire. have falsely reported, that Mr. Benjamin Parker, of said Portsmouth. has for some Time past been non compos; and that his being indebted to us more than he was able to pay, was the Occasion of his Distraction; and that he was arrested for sundry large Sums, particularly by some of us the Subscribers: This may certify, that the said Reports are groundless; and that we have dealt largely with said Benjamin Parker, both before and since spreading them, and always found him a Person of Punctuality and Honour.
