Full Text

BOSTON, May 11.

Extract of a Letter from a Gentleman in London to his Friend in Boston, that came in Capt. Freeman,

SIR,

I have now the Pleasure to assure you that the Ministry are well satisfied with your late Conduct. Your Province was Yesterday spoken of in the House of Commons with great Respect. and Conduct commended. They will attend to no Altercations of old Affairs. I advised you as one of the Committee that Malcomb's Affair was not adopted by the Government, nor do I believe it has left any bad Impressions on their Minds. I advised the Speaker of the Reception of the House's Representation of their Grievances, which was pertinent, decent, and modest, and am in hopes of good Effects from it. The ending-Votes of Thanks to the several Persons who appeared in your favour on the late Repeal, was a well judged Measure, doubtless was of Service to your Interest here. You do me justice in believing me to be a Friend to America and to Liberty. That darling favorite and important Cause will ever lay near the Heart of your real Friend and humble Servant.
