REASONABLE: Heavy responsibility is placed on every citizen by the World Affairs Institute in their recent meeting. The group, addressed by a member of the Advisory Committee to the Civil Rights Commission, was told that a large amount of the south's racial problem must be met by the individual. Pointing out that the judicial and legislative action that have played a large part in initiating civil rights movements in the south have left a wide bridge in race relations, it was further explained that this bridge must be spanned by individual effort. Reasons for working at the individual level was explained as a means of enlarging personal participation in nationwide policies. The composite group of the United World Federation was founded in 1947 as a result of a merger of several national organizations interested in national problems. The racial slant of the group's activity is to raise the status of the Negro in education, employment, registration and voting to full participation.
