The County Managers at the Exposition.

It has been our good fortune and pleasure to know these gentlemen, to have seen much of them during their two months' sojourn among us, and we feel it were only an act of justice to them and honorable to their counties to make public acknowledgement not only of the faithful manner in which they have executed their commissions, but of the high regard in which they are held by our people who are not slow to recognize merit and virtue. These gentlemen will ever be welcomed to Raleigh, and we hope to see them here often. The counties were truly fortunate in the selection of these gentlemen:

J. A. Gill, Wake; Capt. J. B. Hunter, Granville; Capt. Shaw Palmer, Warren; Lieut. T. H. Bain, John McEdwards, Wayne; Capt. J. C. Powell, Edgecombe; Capt. R. James Powell, Chatham; John M. Terrell, Esq., Jackson; Dr. Jas. A. Blum, Forsyth; Mr. S. R. Kepler, Buncombe.

If we have omitted the names of any county managers who have been here all the while it is not because they are less worthy of praise than those mentioned.
