The CHRISTIAN PRAYER
By Dr. Redmond.

Parent of Bliss, whose Reign, in Realms above,
Improves the Christian's Faith, refines his Love,
Display thy Pow'r, nor let fond reasoning Man
Attempt thy great Immensity to scan.

Here, as in Heav'n, let all thy Will adore:
Quickly thy promis'd Paradise restore.
Mean while, submis to thee, wise Nature's Ends,
We'll use whate'er to true Obedience tends.
Give us, with sympathizing Hearts to move,
Quick to forgive, forgiving, quick to love:
So we unmerited thy Love shall gain,
And sing Love's rapt'rous, Love's eternal Strain.
Grant that from thee our Minds may never stray;
Lead where is best, O! lead us in thy Way:
For thou art All, all Domination's thine,
Glory and Might, and Love without Confine.
