Full Text
An essential piece of service might be performed which would do more honour to the nation than suffering the ships of war to rot in the harbours, or upon insignificant cruises; namely an attack upon the Mississippi settlements. The advantage of which, if successful, would not only be in the conquest, but would strike such a universal terror among the Cherokees, and all the rest of the Indian nations, that they would not presume to take up the hatchet against the English after seeing such repeated proofs of their Strength and valour.
