1. Some people make such a wild dash after big things, that their happiness is destroyed by the quick and costly accumulation of neglected little big things.
2. The things that a lot of us think other folks don't see, are the important little things that should most concern you and me.
3. Little things whether good or bad, have to be regarded very wisely, or they can be the means of making either you or your neighbor happy or sad.
4. A little mouse can upset a whole house, and even make an elephant shake carefully his hay whenever he eats from day to day.
5. Yet, too many men seem to

think that little things don't matter, and failing to observe them, allow the valuable big things either to pass quickly by or scatter.
6. In fact, what things men for the most part call little, are really great. and their failure to recognize them impedes their progress and exposes to ill-fate.
7. A man can slight the old and inform needy souls, and do himself the greatest harm; or pass up children in the children, to recognize men who mean far less, despite the material things they here possess.
8. Humility of spirit toward all mankind is one of the greatest possessions anyone can hope to gain or design; it is something that money cannot buy, and lives when all material perish and die.
9. The little kindnesses we gladly do, may seem as trifles in the paths we pursue; but ever increasing them day to day, they produce big dividends and lucrative pay.
10. Overlooking the small things and reaching for the great--putting first things last, hoping to reach a lofty state; is like building a foundation on nothing but sand, without any possibility for the house to stand.
11. Men of every nation have made this failure from their creation and seem to enjoy its fiendish sensation; but when their time on earth begins to grow short, in a safer direction they try to resort.
12. What a blessing it would be if every child born. could be taught by the word of God, what things to love and what to scorn; men and women would later cover the land, who concerning the value of small things would thoroughly understand.
