Full Text

Brown Tp. Oct. 14, 1868.

Capt. Raper: Old Brown is all right. Republican gain, 41. For this we are thankful to those candid fair-minded men who, rising above party prejudice, voted their honest convictions. We are thankful especially to the Democratic stumpers who came here to "blow off;" and of these we are under lasting obligations to Mr. O. T. Ganning for his distinguished effort at the Furnace School House. We have heard that he frequently regretted that he was never able to make a duplicate of that brilliant harangue. We sincerely regret that he did not quadruple it in this township. Old Brown is good for 20 for Grant, Colfax and peace.
