LOYAL CLAIMS.
Our readers will note with pleasure the announcement in our dispatches that the House of Representatives has passed a bill to pay such loyal claims as have been favorably passed upon by the Claims Commissioners at Washington. This Court or Commission have carefully investigated the claims presented before them, thrown out those that proved fraudulent, reduced the award for those that proved excessive and advised against those presented by disloyal claimants. In this way Congress has before it a lot of claims approved by good men, which they will recommend for payment, and which will doubtless soon be paid. We hope soon to report the payment of all just claims in East Tennessee, and expect to be able to do so.
