TEQUESTA TOURNEY

JUPITER (AP)—Some 60 golfers went after 32 openings in the South Florida Men's Invitational Championship at Tequesta Country Club today. Chief among them was Deane Beman, 20, of Bethesda, Md., who won the event in 1955 and 1956. Match play begins Wednesday with two rounds on Thursday, 36-hole semifinals Friday and 36 hole finals Saturday. Entries include Billy Watts Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, runner-up to Tim Holland in last year's tournament. Holland is not defending. Par over the 6,210-yard layout is 36-35—71.
