Two Milk Cows and Chickens Provide Living.

"I visited a farmer this week whom I had assisted last winter in selecting two high-grade milk cows after selling his scrub cows," writes W. M. McBride, agent in Webster parish. "This farmer is an old man and his children all have left him and gone to town. But he took those two cows and 42 Rhode Island Red chickens and not only made a living for himself and wife but saved enough besides to enable both to make a visit of three weeks to relatives in Georgia."
