Former Harlem Grid Ace On Montana Univ. Squad

A former Harlem high school fullback ace, fullback Gary Ekegren, will be among 50 Montana University gridders reporting for fall practice at the University at Missoula on Sept. 1, head coach Ray Jenkins has announced.

"Gary, being only a sophomore is still rather green," Jenkins commented. "But we at the University feel he has the ability to win a varsity job and see plenty of action his fall."

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwell Ekegren of Harlem, he is a physical education major at the Missoula school. He earned nine letters in football, basketball and track before graduating from high school with the class of 1958. Also while in high school he was elected to the high school All American basketball team.
