O lady with the beaming eye,
And the cheek of roseate dye,
Thou'rt gliding down a placid stream;
Youth's sunny skies above thee gleam,
Thro' golden mists the Future smiles
Fair as the Greek's enchanted Isles.

May kindly breezes speed thee on,
And Heavens all cloudless smile upon
Thy fragile bark!

Hope speed the sail, Faith guide the helm
And no wild tempest overwhelm
In waters drear and dark.

And as succeeding years shall bring
Wisdom from many a hidden thing,
And thou art wafted to that shore
Where storms and tempests toss no more
The borders of Infinity;

There, amid joys eternal,
In those bright bowers supernal,
And with a seraph's garment on,
O may'st thou ever rest upon
The bosom of Divinity
