Council Has Faith in Mayor.

East St. Louis, Ill., Sept. 12. The East St. Louis city council tonight expressed its confidence in Mayor Fred W. Mollman, who is under indictment charged with malfeasance in office in connection with the recent riots.

The council sent a letter to the mayor expressing confidence and denouncing "certain individuals and interests who have sought to blacken the character of the mayor by vicious conduct during the unfortunate accusations regarding his actions and of the riot."
