Judo Champion Of Japan Seeks Pro Mat Title
LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 1 (Rafu Shimpo Dispatch) - Masahiko Kimura, 14-time judo champion of Japan, and Toshio Yamaguchi have arrived here with the avowed intention of taking back the world's professional wrestling championship to Japan. Kimura, who held the judo title from 1936 through 1949 before turning professional, tips the scales at 205 pounds while Yamaguchi, who has been runner-up as a professional in 1950 and 1951, weighs 250 pounds. They have both had some wrestling experience in Honolulu last spring and toured in South America last fall but this will be their first American experiences. They are here for a one-year stay. They hope to get some local bookings.
