Refunding Proposal To Save Hidalgo Co. $11,040
EDINBURG, July 30-(Spl)-A refunding proposal which would save Hidalgo county $11,040 in interest on its $440,000 courthouse and jail debt was submitted to the commissioners court today by Vance D. Raimond, Edinburg investment broker.
Raimond proposed to refund $440,000 in courthouse and jail bonds, shortening maturities by 10 years.
Under the present setup the total requirements, both interest and maturity, would be $70,360. Under Raimond's proposal, the requirements would be reduced to $59,320.
