Shows Indictment Which Was Found in Dutchess County, Charging Conspiracy.
Concord, N. H., Oct. 13. Gov. Samuel D. Felker gave to a correspondent Saturday a copy of the indictment found by the Dutchess county grand jury against Harry K. Thaw. Thaw and his lawyers have intimated that William Travers Jerome was attempting to deceive the governor when he stated that an indictment was returned. Thaw alleged that information which had been placed before the governor by Jerome was being withheld.
In reply, Felker stated that he would place at the disposal of Thaw's lawyers a copy of the indictment found by the Dutchess county grand jury, which was later held up pending further investigation by Jerome into the alleged conspiracy to free Thaw from Matteawan.
The indictment accuses Harry K. Thaw, Richard J. Butler, Eugene Duffy and Michael O. Keefe of conspiracy. This is the indictment which Thaw declared had not been found against him. He even went so far as to say that he would return to Dutchess county and demand trial upon the indictment if Mr. Jerome could make good his assertion that such an indictment had been returned.
