Full Text
The Convention. A letter from Rev. N. R. Johnston, pastor of a (Covenanter) Presbyterian Church in Vermont, mentions his purpose of attending the Disunion Convention at Cleveland, and says— 'I am very sorry that unavoidable circumstances will prevent many of the members of our Church from being at the Cleveland Convention, who otherwise would be there. Several of the Presbyteries meet on the very days of the Convention. This could not be avoided. The time of the meetings was fixed at the last Spring meetings. Were it not for this, I am sure that quite a number of the ministers in the Presbytery, in whose bounds Cleveland is, would be there.'
