RAY ROBINSON

OUTPOINTS FOE

NEW YORK, Oct. 3. (UP) - Young Ray Robinson, Harlem's unbeaten welterweight contender, added little to his laurels by stepping out of his class last night and winning a 10-round decision over Middleweight Jake Lamotta of the Bronx, who is known as the "Human Truck."

Robinson, slender, dancing 21-year-old Negro, scored his 36th straight victory, but he did it in a fashion that failed to please the 12,784 fans in Madison Square Garden. He did it while backpedaling.

Hence the fans booed Robinson in the later rounds, although he was giving a masterly boxing exhibition against a rugged middleweight who out-weighed him 12 pounds. Robinson scaled 145 pounds to Lamotta's 157.
