STATE GRANGE IS IN SESSION AT HARTFORD
The forty-fifth annual meeting of the Connecticut State Grange is beginning held at Hartford beginning yesterday and continuing until Thursday.
Interest will center in the biennial election of officers. State Master Minor Ives of Meriden is completing his second term and a new master is certain to succeed him.
With no legislature this year, it is unlikely that resolutions calling for legislative actions will be presented.
Reports will be made by State Secretary Ard Welton of Plymouth, State Treasurer Darius A. St. John of New Canaan and standing committees.
The sixth degree will be conferred in Foot Guard hall Wednesday evening. Remarks will be made by visiting members.
At the session Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, State Lecturer Mrs. Sarah L. Curtis of Plainville will read her annual address. Henry C. Dunham of Middletown, secretary of the Patrons' Mutual Fire Insurance company will report. The election of officers will begin at 10 o'clock and continue at the afternoon session at 2 o'clock. Resolutions and other business will be considered in the afternoon. In the evening at 7.30, a degree team from Mountain County Pomona grange will exemplify degree work.
The sessions Thursday will be at 9 a. m. and 2 p. m. Mrs. Caroline M. Haines, chairman, will report for the home economics committee, in the morning. National Lecturer James C. Farmer of New Hampshire will install officers in the afternoon.
There will be a lecturers' conference in the Old English room, Hotel Bond, Tuesday at 2 o'clock. All Pomona and subordinate grange lecturers in the state who attend will receive mileage.
