FROM BEAVERDAM—GOOD NEWS
—A PERTINENT P. S.
Editors Citizen: I simply wish to state that we are all well on Beaver Dam. Our tobacco is curing out handsomely. In fact I think if king frost will hold up a short while longer we will make the best crops we have ever had in this section; and while every thing else is so blooming we also have a little "Politix" mixed in for seasoning. We are all "True Blue" on Beaver Dam, with only one or two exceptions. We like oysters, fish, &c, but on the second of November we will prove to you that no matter how much "sweetnin" is put in we cannot swallow "Flop-tails." No, no, we don't like 'em: and don't mean to have 'em. Our motto is "give us liberty or give us death," but for heaven's sake, don't ask us to take any "Wiggle Tails."
Yours very truly,
Democrat.
P. S. Can you tell us where Mr. Pearson stands? I know he cannot be a Democrat, and if he is a Republican, why the thunder is he ashamed to own it?
