THE FOURTH AT BARTON.--The picnic was attended by over two thousand people and the day was greatly enjoyed by all. An opening address was made by Rev. J. K. Black, of Lonaconing, and the oration by Col W. H. Lowdermilk of this city. Cannon salutes were fired, fireworks let off and other strictly Fourth of July demonstrations made.

A tournament, participated in by twenty-five knights, was had. The successful knight was Mr. Charles Long, who crowned as Queen of Love and Beauty Miss Bertie Blackwell, of Piedmont. The knights who took the next greatest number of rings were Messrs. W. Somerville, of Barton, T. M. Conner, of Winchester, and Russell Kimball, of Barton, who crowned Misses Laura Kight, Kate Ward and Clara Barnes, of Barton.
