Bell's London Weekly Messenger, of the latest date, says the "United States may be looked for furnishing us with corn and flour, and to those regions alone we look." Indeed the prospects of the American farmer are, at this time, very encouraging. Let him beware, then, of jeopardizing these prospects, by assisting in elevating men to office, whose ignorance or violence might load us into difficulties, and destroy the hopes of the farmers, merchants, and mechanics. In such times as these, and in the present situation of the country, it becomes doubly necessary that a wise and experienced Statesman should be at the head of affairs - Phenix Gaz.
