WEDNESDAY. SEPT. 29. 1926
The appeal to the Ellsworth branch of the American Red Cross for aid for the Florida sufferers is still insistent. Only $11.50 has been received by this branch to date.
Ellsworth is far removed from the scene of the disaster, and in recent years we have been led to think of Florida in terms of dollars and cents. The fact that there is real suffering there now, that thousands of people whose homes have been wiped out are in need of immediate assistance, has failed to penetrate our minds and open our purses. Ellsworth should do better.
