Tuesday afternoon the Glacier reporter was shown through the newly-furnished lodge rooms of the Masonic orders in Tieman hall. These new rooms are certainly among the neatest and best furnished of any lodge rooms in the state outside of Portland. Something over $800 was used on furnishings alone. A view of the interior of the hall shows the money to have been well expended. Three of the Officers' chairs are hand made from quarter-sawed oak and cost the lodge $200 in Portland. There are 60 other chairs, also of heavy oak, and desks for the secretary and treasurer. The floor and raised platforms are covered with rich, ingrain carpet, which, with the well-plastered walls and ceiling, give the room a most pleasing effect. The entrance to the lodge hall is on the south side of the temple, from which an inclosed stairway leads to a spacious ante-room. Here are conveniently arranged a sink, cooking stove and the necessary requisites for supplying the lodge members with a warm luncheon or a banquet. The main hall is 25x60 feet in extent, with a 16-foot ceiling. The building throughout is well-lighted with electricity. Tieman hall is the place of meeting for the Blue lodge of the Masonic order, the Royal Arch chapter and the members of the Eastern Star. The Masons in Hood River are about 60 strong, and with the location in their new temple, they are as well situated as any chapter of this order in the state.
