Full Text

For the Register.

Mr Editors:--E. D. Bush "aspires" to beat me in raising calves, without giving them anything to eat but a little skimmed milk. If Mr. Bush has a breed of cattle that will raise at 12 months calves that will weigh 960 lbs with nothing but a little skimmed milk, I'm beat; for such a stock of cattle I have not been able to find in over half a century's experience in raising calves. My calf had new milk, grass, hay, and oats, with now and then a sprinkling of meal, and salt.
