NEW GERMAN REPUBLIC
The Soviet Union formally recognizes today its own creation- the new East "German Democratic Republic" government. In a statement issued in Berlin last night, Russia announced the end of military rule and said "all administrative functions" exercised by the Russians would be transferred to the new Communist-controlled East German government.
In Frankfurt the American, British and French high commissioners of West Germany said in a joint statement that "this so-called government has no title to represent Eastern Germany."
