San Francisco, Feb. 10.—A dispatch to the Examiner from Los Angeles says that Charles Ehlers, who was shot in Bakersfield has arrived here and that he has broken his long silence regarding the shooting and made the following statement:

"Until now I have refused to say who shot me. It has been a much mooted question whether it was done by some one interested in the Goebel murder case of Frankfort, Ky., in which I am credited with having been an important witness. From State Senator W. J. Emmons, of Bakersfield the thing goes on to declare that Emmons shot him for an alleged insult to Mrs. Emmons.
