New Hampshire Politics.—We will bet a brass pin against one year's subscription for the New Hampshire Patriot, that his Excellency Matthew Harvey, will be appointed Judge of the United States Court for this District, in place of the Hon. John S. Sherburne, deceased, notwithstanding Mr. Woodbury, the "Soap Stone" of this State, and the "Peter" of New England stands very much in the way. Mr. Hill is for it and who shall be against it, or rather who can prevent it. This arrangement will be a very happy one, for it is pretty well ascertained that the silken cord twisted during the last session by our Legislature and in which Dr. Harper the President of the Senate, was so finely entangled is all unravelled, by the Marshall having ascertained that we shall only be entitled to five Representatives. He will therefore be withdrawn from the list of candidates, and be Governor and what a silky Governor we shall have!!—N. H. Post.
