The True Fissure of last Saturday says a detachment of surveyors of the California Central Railroad passed through here last Sunday. They are to begin operations in Lida Valley and will work northwest, crossing the Colorado and Carson about twelve miles west of Belleville. This road will be built on as near a level grade as possible, and the curves will be built on an angle of ten degrees.

The width of track will be four feet eight inches, and from the evenness of grade and gradual curve it is expected to compete with the Central Pacific and Texas and Pacific railroads on a very favorable basis in the matter of time and rapidity of moving freight.
