JAIL PREACHER SOON RETURNS.

During the Sunday afternoon services in the county jail James Johnson was the principal speaker. Johnson drew his lesson from the crime of larceny, which had sent many of his auditors to the cells they were occupying, and exhorted the men to keep away from theft when they once more gained their freedom.

At the conclusion of the services Johnson returned to his home, only to be met by an officer with a warrant, charging him with chicken stealing. He could not furnish bail, and within three hours after preaching in the county jail was himself occupying a cell alongside the men he had exhorted to give up sin.—Scranton, Pa., Telegraph to the Philadelphia Public Ledger.
