Should Guard Against
Alfalfa Weevil

Thus far the farms of Nevada have not been invaded by the alfalfa weevil, which is wending its devastating way throughout the agricultural districts of Utah.

Careful watch is kept by the Nevada agricultural college representatives and by government experts; but they must be co-operated with by the farmers themselves, or the evil, which is preventable, may be done.

Farmers should familiarize themselves with the appearance and habits of the weevil, so that they can immediately detect its presence and stamp out the pest before the insects spread through the fields.

Care should be particularly exercised in the purchase of alfalfa seed, none of which should be brought in from Utah until the weevil is exterminated there. California has placed embargo upon Utah alfalfa seed. Nevada should do likewise.
