Full Text
The Palladium seems to exult at having an opportunity to announce, two democrats "as being suspected of swindling" and says, "these men are the zealous defenders of the present administration and acquaintance of Gideon Granger." We will take all this for granted, and what does it amount to? Did not the Saviour of the world, select twelve Disciples, and did not one of them basely betray, and another deny him with oaths. Is it so surprising and extraordinary then, if there should be found a few bad and unprincipled men among the Republicans! when it is considered that characters the most notorious for swindling &c. were not only "suspected." but have even been convicted among the Federalists, who assume to themselves the exclusive title of friends to order, religion and good government! Oh shame where is thy blush! but Federalists have lost all sense of shame, and cannot blush.
