ANNIVERSARY COMMENCEMENT
On Wednesday the Anniversary Commencement was held at the University in Cambridge. The exercises were honoured with the presence of the President of the United States, and their Excellencies Governors Strong and Trumbull, (of Connecticut) who were escorted from this town by the Norfolk troop of horse: commanded by Capt. Davis. After the usual introductory business was transacted, the President, Professors and government, with the distinguished visitants; moved in procession, escorted by the candidates for the Bachelor degree, to the meeting-house. The exercises were preceded by a fervent prayer by the President of the University.
The degree of Bachelor of Arts was conferred on 48 young gentlemen, and the degree of Master of Arts on 35.
