On Thursday the 6th inst. the freemen of
Vermont elected their Governor. Lieuten-
ant Governor, Councillors, Representatives
and Members of Congress.
A gentleman from Brattleboro', informs
us, that the votes in that town were 286 fed-
eral, and 25 democratic. This town has
always been federal, but has never, till now,
given more than 200 votes. In Hinsdale,
Federal 65 democratic 11. This town has
been considered democratic.
A letter from Walpole, says, " In West-
minster there has been a great change in fa-
vor of Federalism. - Mr. Tichenor's ma-
jority for Governor is 40, Mr. Hubbard's
for Congress 45, Mr. Hall's for State Re-
presentative, 22. Westminster has here-
tofore been democratic." There is no doubt
the election in Vermont will result in the tri-
umnph of Federal Republicanism.
