PREMATURE EXPLOSION.

Vulcanizer in Grafton Dentist's Office Creates Consternation.

Grafton, Feb. 15.-There was a little fire scare in the dentistry office of Robert Pierce yesterday afternoon caused by the explosion of the vulcanizer, a machine used in the hardening of rubber plates. The fire was smothered by the means of rugs before it had time to spread, and consequently very little damage was done aside from the destruction of the apparatus. A young man by the name of Holbrook was in the dentist's chair at the time of the explosion, and he presented a very frightened appearance as he ran from the office with a cast in his mouth.
