New Professor at Carleton.
NORTHFIELD, Minn., June 3. - President James W. Strong, of Carleton College, has been trying for several months past to secure a successor to Prof. A. H. Pearson who, until the last fall term, was professor of philosophy and Biblical literature, and tendered his resignation owing to ill health. The president has secured Rev. Eugene W. Lyman for the chair of philosophy. Mr. Lyman is a young man, having graduated from Yale last year.
He comes with highest recommendations.
