Arson and assault with intent to murder indictments against a woman listed by policemen as Katie Ruth Hunt, 28, of Valentine Street, will be sought this week at a grand jury session, it was indicated Monday.
Patrolmen T. Wallace and P. H. Beasley accused the woman of setting fire last Saturday night to a home located at 38 Woodward Ave. SW, after she allegedly clouted Mrs. Lena Bell Mitchell, 28, on the head with a curling iron.
According to the officers' report Mrs. Hunt, who had been sleeping at the Woodward Avenue address became angry when aroused. She then struck Mrs. Mitchell with the curling iron and set fire to the house when Mrs. Mitchell went outside looking for policemen, the written report revealed.
A white man said Mrs. Hunt threatened to shoot him when he went in the rear of the investigating. The blaze did considerable damage to furniture and interior of the house.
