Full Text

The People with the House

Kansas City Journal.

There seems to be a marked difference of opinion between the Republicans of the House and Senate concerning the federal election bill. It is unquestionably the fact that Republicans generally throughout the country will side with the House in the controversy. There is nothing in the bill to call forth the objections which some of the Republican Senators have raised to it. Their attitude is simply an acknowledgment that the methods which Democrats have so long employed in the South to carry elections are right. Party interests demand the passage of the bill.
